E-books
In our library we offer access to e-books in various formats. Possibilities of using different types of e-books vary, some are online and can be freely downloaded, others can only be viewed in the library, others are available for loan for a time period.
Palmknihy
The service is offered along with palmknihy.cz and palmknihy.cz portal and includes Czech titles mainly from fiction. These e-books found in our catalogue can be borrowed by registered readers anywhere in the catalogue. For reading, it is also necessary to register at the palmknihy.cz portal with the same e-mail address as in our library. After borrowing in the catalogue you will receive an activation code via e-mail. You can read the borrowed e-book using the eReading app on Android and iOS.

Bookport
An online library offering access to more than 8,600 titles (fiction, popular and specialist literature). The books come from major Czech publishers (Karolinum, Host, Grada, Portál, etc.). Access to publications in PDF and ePUB format is possible from all devices (PC, tablet, mobile - up to 3 devices can be connected to one account). The offline reading application is limited to 6 simultaneously accessible titles. Access to Bookport is via eduID.cz
Regional e-books
The Moravian-Silesian Research Library in Ostrava publishes older regional books in the form of e-books. These are copyrighted works by local authors. E-books are available in formats suitable for e-book readers and other readers - pdf, pdf for readers, ePub, mobi. Books can be downloaded freely, they are licensed under Creative Commons.
E-books from College Publishers
Through the EBSCOhost platform, we offer access to Czech e-books by the Karolinum and Munipress publishing houses (Masaryk University Publishing House). You can read e-books online or download them to your reading devices.

The Municipal Library of Prague publishes freely available e-books covering older Czech, foreign and modern production. In about a thousand offered titles, fiction, both Czech and world classics, prevails.

E-books in Every Library
Our library has been involved in the project, thanks to which it makes available electronic versions of newer Czech book titles (mostly from the Academia publishing house). For the time being, the service is limited to the ability to view and study publications on computers in the bibliography department.

Contemporary Czech E-books
The Moravian-Silesian Research Library in Ostrava makes available e-books of Czech authors, from which it has obtained approval for publication. Books are offered in different modes depending on the license granted (free to all interested, only registered users or only on computers in the library building).
Electronic Versions of Local Moravian-Silesian Region Newsletters
In its catalogue, MSVK makes available electronic versions of municipal and city newsletters in the Moravian-Silesian Region.
